Abhishek is conducted by priests by pouring libations on the deity amidst the chanting of mantras from the Vedas. Usually offerings such as milk, curd (yogurt), ghee, honey, sugar, coconut water, rose water, sandalwood paste may be poured among other offerings depending on the type of abhishekam performed
